The Gaelic Whiskies is the only Scotch whisky company headquartered in the Scottish Hebrides. Our office and shop can be found on the small private harbour of Eilean Iarmain, situated on the idyllic Sleat peninsula on the Isle of Skye. From here you can enjoy breath-taking views across to Isle Ornsay and to the hills of Knoydart on the mainland, whilst enjoying a free tasting of our award winning whiskies.
We are approximately 4 hours by road from Glasgow and Edinburgh and around 2 hours from Inverness.
Our whisky shop is open from 10am - 5pm Monday - Friday from October through to April.
From May through to September we are open Monday - Saturday 10am - 6pm and 11am - 4pm on Sundays.
From Kyle of Lochalsh, cross the Skye Bridge (toll free) and follow the road signposted Broadford for 7 miles and then turn left on to the A851 signposted Armadale. Follow this road for 8 miles and turn left to Isle Ornsay (Eilean Iarmain).
By Ferry from Mallaig:
After leaving the ferry turn right on to the A851 signposted for Broadford and follow it for 8 miles. Turn right to Isle Ornsay (Eilean Iarmain).
Whilst here, why not visit the award-winning Hotel Eilean Iarmain where you can relax over a meal in the bar or restaurant, or enjoy a night's stay in this idyllic setting.
You can also visit the gallery An Talla Dearg, where there are exhibitions throughout the season. In addition to this, you may wish to take time to browse in Floraidh, a tweed and wool shop which sells beautiful hand-tailored clothing, made in Scotland.
Also on offer at Eilean Iarmain are various sporting activities including shooting and fishing. In addition to this, the Estate owns 2 self catering cottages which are available for rental throughout the year.
