Pràban na Linne celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Gaelic Whiskies with the release of a very special limited edition.
A single cask of particularly fine 40 year old malt whisky was specially selected and bottled to mark the occasion and to celebrate the memory of the Founder, Sir Iain Noble of Eilean Iarmain.

Why the name?

Poit Dhubh, named after the Gaelic term for an illicit still, celebrates the historic tradition of illicit whisky-making which became legendary throughout the Gaeltachd of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The illicit stills being regarded traditionally as a source of some of the most respected whiskies, held in the highest regard by connoisseurs of discerning taste.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Gentle warm notes of vanilla with apricot and citrus fruitiness.
Palate: Rich, warm and complex. Soft and full flavour, a perfect balance of citrus and tropical fruit with gentle notes of cigar and spice.
Finish: Beautifully balanced - rounded, soft and complex. Notes of lavender, vanilla, spice and orange zest. The mature fruitiness and the subtle rich spice giving depth to the long warm finish.
